The Album ENCANTARIAS will conclude a trilogy initiated by the albums Tekó Porã (2020), followed by História de Plantas (2021), both celebrating the ancestral knowledge of indigenous peoples and our ecosystems. In short, the project aims to be a musical immersion into the Brazilian culture that is in permanent symbiosis with its biodiversity.
The song "Saudades da Rua" (a teaser for now) that you can listen from the link bellow, it will be recorded together with one more song for the ENCANTARIAS album soon in Maranhao in December. It's the opening song.
This song asks for permission for this recording, and it asks for it from the magical and enchanted beings of the streets and crossroads of Brazil (the Encantados) - asking for abundance and open paths for everyone!
In these lyrics I'm bringing to light the various traditional capoeira rings of Brazil, past and present, paying homage to the men and women who created them in the streets and squares of Brazil. Celebrating capoeira as a public, urban, street art!
This time we will celebrate the "Encantados". In the Brazilian popular imagination, they are, for example, the spirit of the jaguar and the big snake, the indigenous warriors, the enchanted shamans, the "caboclas da mata" Iara, Jandira, Mayra, Jupira and Jussara (mestizas)

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, I started in capoeira when I was 16 years old. My artistic and creative training goes mainly
through this art form. From there I learned music, film and theatre. Since 1996 I have been going back and forth from Brazil to the United Kingdom, and recently to Mexico, where I currently live. I worked in slums in Rio, theatre in London and productions in Asia and Scotland....more
